6 Habits Mentoring

The Power of Having a Mentor

We Believe Every Child Should Be Mentored

Most successful athletes and business leaders have mentors, so why not every child! Mentoring is a highly effective approach to helping individual children make faster progress around their learning and behavioural needs. The 6 Habits Mentoring programme is a more personalised approach to supporting children on a 121 basis to help better support their individual learning needs. This can include children who may have challenging behavioural, social and emotional needs. But could also involve children who need extra support around building self-esteem and social skills.

The Power of Having a Mentor

A One Goal Mentor is fully trained in mentoring skills and works with children in years 1-6 on an individual or small group basis each week to help children overcome their personal learning barriers by applying The 6 Habits methodology in how they think and act in and around school. And because One Goal tutors often have very strong relationships with the children we work with in school this enables us to positively influence the way children think and act.

How The 6 Habits Mentoring Programme works:

  • Mentoring can take place within the child’s classroom during curriculum lessons and also outside of the classroom.
  • Mentoring sessions last between 15-30 mins and typically take place once per week but can be used on a daily basis where possible.
  • Extra 6 Habits learning materials and resources can also used to support the child’s learning.
  • Robust reporting and ongoing assessments around a child’s progress are carried out and provided to the school.

What Schools are Saying

The 6 Habits has had an excellent impact on the children. The programme brought out a supportive element in children who would not normally show this. Overall it has been a very positive experience for all the children.
