The Primary PE and Sports Premium is Doubling from September 2017

It’s great news to see a promise made by DfE actually being kept lately: the Sports Premium fund is doubling from September! The Secretary of State Justine Greening announced it, together with a few other increases in schools funding in the next years.

“As well as this additional investment through the national funding formula, I am confirming our commitment to doubling the physical education and sports premium for primary schools. All primary schools will receive an increase in their PE and sports premium funding in the next academic year.” – Education Secretary

Most schools have probably selected a PE provider for next year, but if you haven’t, here is a cheat sheet you can use to speed the process up. Add on the top of the list your top 3 PE providers, and start checking the criteria – who scores the most points, is the best provider you can find (click on the image to download):

Another good resource we recommend for all head teachers is a short 9 page guide that you can read in 5 minutes — How to Make The Most of Your PE Provision (click on the image to download):

“The guide was put together earlier this year and features some simple key take away points that can help your school. One Goal has worked in over 230 primary schools since 2010 and it would be fair to say that we have learned a lot along the way!

I hope you find this guide useful, I’d love to hear your feedback or if you have any specific questions do please get in touch.”Adam Eccleston, One Goal Director

The schools have waited a long time for this, so don’t wait anymore and take advantage of the PE funding. Together, we can inspire children and get them to enjoy moving and PE, while teaching them The 6 Habits. From our experience, this is the best possible way to grow healthy, resilient and courageous children!
